RSP ROW SPINNING

IT IS A MACHINE DESIGNED FOR THE TRAINING OF SPECIFIC FORCE IN THE OLYMPIC ROWER

ABOUT RSP ROW SPINNING?

The improvement of the specific strength application is today one of the basic pillars of any training program aimed at improving sport performance.

For many years the world of rowing has been researching and developing different means to train specific gestures on the ground, with ergometers you get a part of the job, related to the development of metabolic pathways at high intensity, however, the entire structural part related to the specific force still needed to be developed, how the athlete should apply it in magnitude and time is the goal with which we have developed RSP Row Spinning.

WHAT IS RSP ROW SPINNING?

It is a machine designed for the training of specific force in the Olympic rower.

RSP ROW SPINNING will allow us to increase the force in the specific rowing movement, because in few sports it is possible to resist the specific movement through external loads, having to resort to exercises of non-specific force such as squats and others, always far from the real sporting gesture.

The goal of this machine is to improve the first phase of the stroke, when the rower “catch” the water and it pushes to re-accelerate the boat. At this stage where the boat already has speed, it is particularly important that the rower can apply the greatest amount of force very quickly.

RSP ROW SPINNING has an axle specifically designed to accelerate in the first phase of the push, a defining moment to improve the speed of the boat and its performance.

RSP Row Spinning IS NOT AN ERGOMETER, IT IS A SPECIFIC STRENGTH TRAINING MACHINE OF THE ACTION OF ROWING.

Your goal is to push faster when you start the stroke.

HOW TO ADJUST THE RSP ROW SPINNING?

Fixed radio machines have only one way to vary the load of the machine and therefore the response of the machine is the same as to the force applied by the athlete:

-Varying the Moment of inertia: the moment of inertia is defined as the minimum value of force that the athlete has to apply to vary the machine´s state of rest, this means that the higher this value is, the more force the athlete has to apply to start and stop the machine, and the more time he will need to stop the machine and start it again (slower the Eccentric/Concentric transition).

To find out more about this, see our article

This will mean that as we increase the value of inertia, we will increase the time of tension and the value of force that the athlete can apply by making the movement slower.

HOW TO USE RSP ROW SPINNING?

With this machine you will be able to simulate the technical action of Olympic rowing with all its variants, you will be able to completely adjust the machine to your liking to reproduce your position in the water.

To adjust the rope, we recommend that you give 5 cm more travel to the rope to give the rower time to change direction and avoid a too abrupt transition.

The big difference with the traditional ergometers is that the distance of the rope the rower works with is the same as the distance he rows in the water, this allows him to work much more precisely when entering the water and apply force. Also, thanks to the use of an inertia flywheel as a resistance, the athlete will have to manage the recovery phase better by braking the flywheel to apply force again when pushing, this will force the rower to be much more precise and efficient in his application of force in the water.

The rope system used with a 1×2 gear allows the athlete to apply more force in the concentric phase to accelerate the steering wheel, forcing him to stop it at the end of the return phase (eccentric) to perform the next repetition.

This machine is aimed at improving the application of force, and should be used and managed as a force machine.
